Abuja, Nigeria – 5 September 2025

Propcom+ has successfully concluded its five-day Market Systems Development (MSD) Training, held from 1st to 5th September 2025. The training brought together technical and cross-cutting teams to strengthen their knowledge and practical application of MSD principles in advancing climate-smart agriculture and resilient food systems.

Key Highlights

  • Engaging Learning Sessions: Experienced facilitators from DevLearn guided participants through in-depth sessions on systemic change, facilitation, and sustainability.
  • Hands-on Tools and Frameworks: Participants explored practical MSD tools to address real-world agricultural and market challenges.
  • Collaborative Group Work: Case studies, role plays, and peer exchanges encouraged active participation and knowledge sharing.
  • Commitment to Action: Participants expressed confidence in applying the principles learned to improve programme design, foster partnerships, and scale systemic change.

Why It Matters

By investing in continuous learning, Propcom+ ensures its team is well-equipped to deliver sustainable, inclusive, and scalable solutions. The training reinforced how MSD can unlock finance, technology, and markets for smallholder farmers, contributing to food security, rural prosperity, and climate resilience in Nigeria.

Looking Ahead

As participants return to their various roles, Propcom+ is committed to embedding the insights gained into its programme delivery. The ultimate goal is to strengthen Nigeria’s agricultural systems by enabling innovation, supporting private sector engagement, and amplifying smallholder farmers’ resilience.

“This training has not only deepened our understanding of MSD but also provided the tools to translate theory into real change for smallholders,” said Dr. Adiya Ode, Team Lead of Propcom+.
